Today I got to writing again and came up with something a bit more modern. I wanted to do a bit more Noir and that's what I got. So, try and enjoy: The Bullet Train.


Ajatus - In FinnishAstuin ulos tulikuumasta saunasta pyyhkeeseen kietoutuneena. Höyry kierteli ylläni kuin huonosti istuva puku. Astuin nurmikolle ja annoin pyyhkeen lipua lanteiltani. The Bullet Train - UNFINISHEDI was travelling from Boston to Chicago on one of those fancy new trains. I hadn't had any gigs for a few months save this last one: finding Mrs. Barifeldts presumably kidnapped cat. The job had required me to travel all the way to Boston just to look around the neighbourhood and find the cat had marooned itself in a tree. The pay covered little more than the expenses but at least the old lady had fed me well. It was far better than what awaited me back home: dried old bread and half a bottle of bourbon.The Bullet Train - UNFINISHED
Someone was walking down the aisle but I paid them little heed as I watched the trees swing by the rattling carriage. I closed


Aran's storyI don't remember much of it. It was before they caught me, naturally, as it was the cause. I had a habit of hitting the dice rings a bit too often and had fallen in with the wrong kind of people. The kind of people who take your fingers if they can't get their money back. That'd be an unusually big problem for me, seeing as I am - or at least used to be - a blacksmith. So, when they started asking for the payment, I became desperate for a well paying job. This meant more shady dealings, in this case, with the local thieves guild.Aran's story
